Passion, sharing, encounters and friendship: these values are central to Gérard-Philippe Mabillard's photographic approach, but they can also be applied to wine and viticulture.
Over the years, they have led him to cross paths with many personalities from the worlds of art, wine and gastronomy. These encounters have resulted in an impressive series of black-and-white portraits. A selection of these photographs is being presented for the first time in Switzerland, in Sierre.
With this exhibition, the Wine Museum is celebrating the passion and unifying role of wine. The glass of wine – the one we share, the one we raise to toast – is the common thread linking all the people photographed. But it also connects them with Valais viticulture, the star that appears in the background of these portraits.
