In January and February 2026, 10 promising young jazz bands from all of Switzerland's linguistic regions will perform 80 concerts in some 30 clubs across the country.

Driftwood 4tet's music evolves from fragile miniatures to orchestral soundscapes and edgy riffs. The group moves skilfully in the field of tension between melodic composition, polyrhythmic structure and individuality in interaction and improvisation. Driven by curiosity and a thirst for discovery, Joa Frey continually tests new concepts in his compositions, drawing inspiration from natural phenomena and personal stories.

The result is complex, ambitious pieces that, at their core, still convey simplicity and a dynamic, fluid groove. This opens up accessible and entertaining musical worlds to the public.
