On 9 August 2025, the 52nd edition of Sierre-Zinal, nicknamed ‘the race of the five 4,000s’, will bring together more than 6,000 runners from 63 different nationalities between Sierre and Zinal, in the heart of the Val d'Anniviers.

This legendary 31 km competition includes 2,200 m of ascent and 1,100 m of descent, offering spectacular views of the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Ober Gabelhorn, Matterhorn and Dent Blanche.

The race starts at 4.45 am for the ‘amateur’ categories and at 11 am for the elite runners. The route passes through iconic locations such as Chandolin, Tignousa, the Hotel Weisshorn and Nava, the highest point at 2,425 metres above sea level.

The finish in Zinal will be celebrated with a popular festival featuring an awards ceremony, musical entertainment and evening concerts.

Complimentary shuttle buses will run between Sierre and Zinal, and refreshment stations will be available along the route.

The event will be broadcast live on RTS and internationally via Eurosport and discovery+, further enhancing its global reach.

Sierre-Zinal is much more than a race: it is an athletic human-size adventure in the heart of the Valais Alps.
